Fortress built by Spanish colonizers from the late 1500s and early 1600s, the largest in America, used to defend Havana from attacks by privateers and pirates. Every day at 9 pm the "El Cañonazo" ceremony is held where a salvo is fired, with all the regulations of the colonial era. The cannons and halls are preserved today. From the height of the fortress you can see a beautiful view of Havana.
